Breath of Fire - Ryuu no Senshi

Long ago, a catastrophic war between dragons nearly brought the world to ruin. Recognizing the devastating toll their immense power exacted upon the planet, the light dragons chose to seal away their abilities to preserve the land. Centuries of peace followed, but that fragile tranquility is shattered when the dark dragons rise once more. Empowered by a mysterious goddess who restores their ancient strength, they set their sights on absolute global domination. Their first target is Dragnier, the ancestral home of the light dragons. As the village is consumed by a merciless inferno, a dragon maiden named Sara uses her powers to temporarily petrify the townspeople, shielding them from the flames before charging into battle alone against the invading army. When the villagers finally awaken from their petrified state, they find their home reduced to ashes and Sara nowhere to be found. Devastated but resolute, her younger brother Ryu vows to dismantle the dark dragons' sinister ambitions and uncover the fate of his missing sister. Stepping forward into an uncertain world, Ryu embarks on a perilous quest that will ultimately forge him into a new dragon warrior.
