Portus

Seventeen-year-old high school student Asami Kawakami is left reeling when her close friend Chiharu abruptly withdraws from daily life, ignoring all communication and ceasing to attend school. Instead of engaging with the real world, Chiharu becomes consumed by Portus, an obscure vintage video game shrouded in disturbing local folklore. According to persistent urban legends, the game contains a hidden level where a mysterious boy appears and asks players if they wish to cross over to the other side; those who accept are said to meet an untimely death. The legend transforms into a harrowing reality when Chiharu takes her own life by slitting her throat, leaving Asami devastated and desperate for answers. Refusing to accept the tragedy as a simple suicide, Asami teams up with Keigo Sawa, her art club teacher, to investigate the dark rumors surrounding the game. Together, they embark on a perilous quest to uncover the truth behind the cursed software and understand what truly drove Chiharu to such a fatal end, blurring the lines between digital myth and mortal consequence.
