Waltz

On a sweltering summer night, a young girl named Onaga stumbles upon an unexpected secret when she glances toward her neighbor’s balcony. There, she discovers Kashiwabara standing in the warm evening air, dressed entirely in women's clothing. This startling revelation shatters the ordinary boundaries of their daily lives, replacing casual proximity with a sudden, charged awareness of each other's hidden vulnerabilities. What begins as a quiet, accidental observation soon blossoms into a deeply unconventional relationship between the two neighbors. Bound by a shared secret that neither fully understands at first, Onaga and Kashiwabara are drawn into a complex dynamic that challenges their perceptions of identity, intimacy, and trust. As the stifling heat of summer lingers, their connection evolves into something entirely unique, navigating the delicate space between curiosity and genuine emotional attachment. Crafted by the acclaimed mangaka behind Aku no Hana (Flowers of Evil) and Happiness, Waltz explores the nuanced intricacies of human relationships through a lens of quiet tension and psychological depth. It is a compelling story about the secrets people keep in the dark and the unexpected bonds that form when those secrets are finally brought to light.
