Seraphim: 266613336 Wings

Set in a future Earth ravaged by a catastrophic pandemic known as the "Angel Plague," Seraphim: 266613336 Wings explores a world consumed by both physical and psychological horror. The mysterious disease afflicts its victims with terrifying apocalyptic visions while simultaneously transforming their bodies. As the plague progresses, it slowly ossifies the infected, turning them into lifeless, angelic statues frozen in seraphic forms. Humanity is left to navigate this desolate landscape, struggling against an affliction that destroys the mind before petrifying the flesh into haunting, otherworldly monuments. This striking narrative was born from the collaboration of two of the most acclaimed directors in anime history: Mamoru Oshii, celebrated for Ghost in the Shell, and Satoshi Kon, renowned for Perfect Blue. Together, they channeled their visionary storytelling into the manga medium to craft this dark, atmospheric tale. The series originally saw publication in Animage, the prestigious magazine historically recognized for serializing Hayao Miyazaki’s legendary Nausicaä manga.
