Confession Under a Clear Sky

Confession Under a Clear Sky is an anthology comprising five distinct short stories that explore the complexities of youthful romance and emotional vulnerability. The titular narrative follows Fuuko, whose longstanding affection for her childhood friend Manabu is threatened when he suddenly grows distant. Her insecurity deepens as her best friend Itt-chan, who is both beautiful and mature, confesses her own feelings for him, leaving Fuuko terrified of losing him forever. In "Half of a Romance," Kanade falls for her popular but emotionally unavailable senpai Takashi after a chance encounter on a train. Though he enjoys her innocent company, he believes himself unworthy of her devotion and urges her to move on, forcing Kanade to question whether her sincere feelings can ever truly reach him. The collection also ventures into supernatural and introspective territory with its remaining tales. "The Girl of the Full Moon" centers on Natsume, who becomes convinced that his classmate Nanae resembles a legendary moon maiden said to feed on human blood, leading to a fateful accident one night that blurs the line between myth and reality. Rounding out the volume are "A Smile Full of Feeling" and "Heading Towards Tomorrow!", two additional stories that further examine the nuances of connection and personal growth. Together, these narratives form a cohesive exploration of love, self-doubt, and the bittersweet transition toward adulthood, each offering a unique perspective on the fragile nature of human relationships.
