Itsuka, Nemuri ni Tsuku Hi

Second-year high school student Hotaru Morino has harbored a quiet, unrequited love for Ren Otaka since their junior high school days. Her ordinary life shatters during a school trip when the bus carrying her, Ren, and her close friend Shiori Yamamoto is involved in a devastating accident. When Hotaru regains consciousness, she is confronted by a mysterious young man dressed entirely in black named Kuro, who reveals himself to be a grim reaper. Despite her initial shock and denial, Kuro delivers an undeniable truth: she has died, and he is now her spiritual guide. Kuro explains that Hotaru must sever her emotional attachments to three specific regrets within forty-nine days, or she will become a restless ghost forever bound to the physical world. Because she spent a month unconscious following the crash, only nineteen days remain on her clock. Accompanied by Kuro, Hotaru embarks on a desperate race against time to find peace before her spirit fades into eternal wandering. Her most daunting task is finally confessing the feelings she has kept hidden for five years. Yet, standing face-to-face with Ren, the words refuse to come. As Hotaru struggles to overcome her first lingering attachment, ominous shadows begin to gather around her and Kuro, hinting at darker challenges ahead.
