Castrated in his youth due to crippling poverty, Dam-I enters the royal palace as an apprentice eunuch, enduring a life defined by hardship and survival. His precarious existence takes a drastic turn with the arrival of Mok-Yeong, the new Crown Prince born to a lowborn courtesan, who ascends to the throne following the untimely death of the previous heir from a chronic illness. Following an unexpected and fateful first encounter, Mok-Yeong quickly pulls Dam-I into his orbit, whimsically using him as he pleases despite Dam-I’s desperate pleas to be dismissed from the palace. Yet, even as he toys with the eunuch, the Crown Prince refuses to let him go, trapping Dam-I within the dangerous currents of court politics. As the crucial royal bedchamber ceremony draws near, Mok-Yeong finds himself unwilling to sire an illegitimate child, leading him to secretly force Dam-I into service as his personal practice partner.
