Witchblade Takeru

Takeru is an average Japanese high school girl who was raised by nuns in a Buddhist convent. She has been troubled by recurring nightmares in which the mysterious Witchblade calls out to her. This phenomenon is tied to a dark secret kept within the temple: the Witchblade, sealed safely inside a box. Moreover, her family lineage maintains an unknown connection to both the mystic artifact and the folklore of the Oni, which explains Takeru's intense, unexplained attraction to the gauntlet locally known as the "Hand of Oni." Ultimately, Takeru's ordinary life undergoes a drastic and irreversible change when she is forced into a random encounter with the artifact, leading her to become its next chosen bearer. Created as a manga adaptation based on the American comic book series by Marc Silvestri and David Wohl, Witchblade Takeru began its serialization in March 2006 in Akita Shoten's *Champion Red* magazine. The narrative was written by Yasuko Kobayashi, with artwork and illustrations by Kazasa Sumita that prominently feature a distinctively erotic stylistic flair.
