Satoki Tsutsuno faces an unimaginable nightmare when he discovers that his entire class, including his closest friend and the person he loves, has been physically reduced to disembodied brains. This grotesque transformation is explained by a mysterious alien entity known only as A-sensei, who reveals that this drastic measure is necessary for the survival of the planet. According to her, humanity’s only hope against an impending threat lies in harnessing the collective intellectual power of these preserved minds, forcing Satoki to confront a reality where his peers exist solely as cognitive resources for a greater cosmic purpose. As the sole student remaining in physical form, Satoki must navigate a harrowing new existence defined by isolation and profound responsibility. He serves as the critical link between the alien instructor and the consciousnesses of his former classmates, bearing the weight of their shared destiny entirely on his own shoulders. The narrative explores the psychological toll of this unique arrangement as Satoki endures unforeseen trials alongside the remnants of those he once knew. Together, they must adapt to their disturbing new roles within A-sensei’s plan, questioning what it truly means to protect the Earth when the cost involves sacrificing their very humanity.
