Sakura Hayato appears to be an ordinary high school student, yet his daily life is complicated by an unusual and burdensome affliction: he is inexplicably popular among ghosts. Rather than being a gift, this supernatural attention is a constant source of irritation that disrupts his attempts at normalcy. His mundane existence takes a decisive turn when he encounters a mysterious figure known as the Undertaker, an individual who professes a solemn duty to guide lingering spirits into the afterlife. This pivotal meeting forces Sakura to confront the spectral world that has long plagued him, introducing a conflict between his desire for peace and the inescapable reality of his spiritual magnetism. This narrative serves as the original one-shot version of "Undertaker Riddle," which is currently serialized in GanGan Online. As a standalone precursor to the ongoing series, it establishes the foundational dynamic between Sakura and the enigmatic Undertaker while exploring the protagonist’s unique dilemma. The story captures the essential tone and premise that would later be expanded upon in serialization, offering readers a self-contained glimpse into a world where the boundary between the living and the dead is perilously thin. Through this initial encounter, the one-shot lays the groundwork for a broader exploration of spiritual obligations and the unexpected connections that bind the mortal realm to what lies beyond.
