Don’t lose because you can’t express yourself

The ability to express oneself through language is widely regarded as a key factor in achieving success in life. Centuries ago, the philosopher Socrates observed that there exists a skill which enables people to accomplish great things quickly and earn the recognition of others—namely, the art of speaking in a way that pleases those who listen. In more recent times, understanding of this skill has deepened. The interpersonal researcher Dale Carnegie stated that a person’s success depends on the art of eloquence. Strong language skills do more than contribute to professional advancement; they also bring personal satisfaction. Those who speak well tend to thrive in the workplace and are also better able to build harmonious relationships in everyday family life.
