Hotarubi no Tomoru Koro ni

In July 2016, the Tadamura family travels to the remote village of Hirasaka to mourn the passing of their matriarch. Among those gathered to pay their final respects are the young man Yukito, his stepsister Yue, their father Masashi, uncles Nobuteru and Tsunemasa, and cousins Terumi and Teruya. What begins as a solemn occasion quickly takes a disturbing turn when Yue witnesses something entirely inexplicable during the night: the grandmother’s lifeless body suddenly stirs, rising from its resting place before vanishing into the darkness. The following morning, the grieving relatives awaken to find that everything has changed. They are no longer in the world they knew. Instead, the entire family discovers themselves trapped within a bizarre, isolated realm seemingly severed from reality—a surreal landscape where two suns burn simultaneously in the sky. Cut off from civilization and faced with an environment that defies all logic, the Tadamura family must confront the terrifying mystery surrounding the grandmother's resurrection and the impossible nature of the strange new world they now inhabit.
