Centuries ago, the King of Monsters commanded a vast army in a ruthless campaign to eradicate humanity. Their conquest was abruptly halted when a powerful shrine maiden, serving as the vessel for the evil god Yaorochi, tore out the monster king's heart and sealed it away. Desperate to reclaim their fallen leader's core, the surviving monsters launched daily assaults against her. Yet they were hopelessly outmatched, and a millennium slipped by while humanity thrived in peace.
