Hakkenden

Cursed by the vengeful spirit Tamazusa, who harbors a deep-seated grudge against the Satomi clan, Princess Fushihime is forced into a supernatural union with Hachibo, a dog whose spirit impregnates her. Overcome by shame at this unnatural conception, the princess takes her own life, yet her inherent virtue transcends death and manifests as eight sacred beads representing benevolence, righteousness, propriety, wisdom, loyalty, faith, filial piety, and love. These mystical orbs embody the purity of her soul even as tragedy claims her mortal existence. Scattered to the four winds by fate, the eight beads of virtue eventually find their way to eight chosen warriors known as the Hakkenshi. As these bearers emerge across the land, each becomes intrinsically linked to one of Fushihime’s spiritual gems, binding their destinies to the legacy of the fallen princess. The convergence of these eight heroes signals a turning point in history, for their gathering heralds an era of profound upheaval that threatens to plunge the world into chaos.
