Yamako to Ookami

One ordinary day, a young girl decides to take a shortcut through the woods, only to find herself face-to-face with a hungry wolf. What begins as a terrifying encounter quickly escalates when she is caught and nearly devoured by the predator. However, just as her situation seems utterly hopeless, a bizarre twist of fate intervenes. Amidst the chaos, the two discover an unexpected shared passion: they both harbor a deep appreciation for the exact same obscure manga titles. This astonishing coincidence instantly transforms their dynamic from predator and prey into something entirely different. Instead of becoming the wolf's next meal, the girl finds herself forming an unlikely friendship with her would-be attacker. The looming threat of the forest gives way to a surprisingly wholesome bond built on mutual geeky interests. From there, the story unfolds as a charming slice-of-life comedy that playfully reimagines the classic Little Red Riding Hood fairy tale. Rather than dark folklore, the narrative focuses on lighthearted shenanigans as the girl and the wolf navigate their unusual companionship. Together, they share everyday adventures fueled by their quirky connection, turning a potentially grim fable into a warm and humorous exploration of unexpected friendships.
