When Miki Hayakawa’s father announces a sudden relocation to the countryside, she and her younger brother dutifully accept the change, expecting nothing more than a quiet rural life. The siblings anticipate a fresh start away from the city, trusting their parent’s judgment as they pack up their belongings and leave their familiar surroundings behind. However, this seemingly ordinary family move quickly reveals itself to be the prelude to something far more extraordinary and unexpected than either child could have imagined during the journey to their new residence. Upon arriving at their secluded new home, their father unveils a startling declaration that completely shatters their assumptions about their future. He solemnly announces his intention to secede from Japan and establish their household as an independent sovereign nation with himself reigning as its monarch.
