Saku-chan to Nozomi-kun

When Saku was a young child, she lost her brother to an untimely death. In an effort to soothe her mother’s overwhelming grief, she began dressing as him, adopting his appearance to fill the void left behind. Across town, Nozomi carried a similar burden. To fulfill his own mother’s longing for a daughter, he grew out his hair and quietly embraced the role she had always wished for. Both children learned early on how to reshape their identities to protect the people they loved most. Now navigating the fragile early stages of adolescence, Saku and Nozomi have recently formed an awkward but genuine friendship. Bound by the shared experience of living outside conventional expectations, they find themselves stepping into a confusing new chapter of life where old coping mechanisms no longer fit so easily. As they grow older and begin to understand who they truly are beneath the roles they were forced to play, their connection deepens in unexpected ways.
