Suki, Kirai... demo Suki

Suki, Kirai... demo Suki is a compelling anthology of six distinct romance stories exploring the sudden and often unexpected awakening of pure love. The collection features characters navigating complicated feelings for people they initially dismissed or misunderstood. In one tale, a freeloading NEET who stumbles into a modest cafeteria gradually develops surprising affection despite his lack of ambition, while another follows a younger sister whose lifelong admiration for her older brother quietly blossoms into romantic love. Elsewhere, a student finds herself inexplicably drawn to a dull, indifferent art teacher, discovering that apathy can mask an irresistible charm. The remaining narratives delve into equally tender emotional dilemmas. A heartbroken king, devastated by a childhood friend's rejection, seeks solace at a local public bathhouse, completely oblivious to the quiet feelings he stirs in those trying to comfort him. Another story unravels a clandestine Wednesday night class where forbidden lessons on kissing blur the lines between loyalty and secret infidelity. Finally, a character accustomed to hiding genuine emotions behind playful poetry must confront the terrifying vulnerability of truly loving someone. Together, these interconnected vignettes beautifully capture the fragile transition from indifference or teasing animosity into undeniable, heartfelt devotion.
