Dark Mortal

Enduring the cruel label of a freak becomes far more bearable when you have an energetic, pitch-black blob for a companion. A devastating explosion robs Nam Kang of his parents, leaves him severely scarred, and nearly destroys his eyesight. Despite the relentless bullying he faces every day, Nam perseveres by relying on Inky, his imaginary friend who provides the comfort and resilience he desperately needs to survive his harsh reality. Everything changes after Nam endures a particularly brutal beating. When he finally regains consciousness, he discovers something impossible: his disfiguring scars have completely vanished, and his lost vision has been fully restored. Transferred to a new school, Nam is suddenly presented with the opportunity he always dreamed of—a chance to experience life as an ordinary teenager without the burden of his past trauma. However, this miraculous fresh start comes with an unexpected cost. Alongside his physical wounds, his beloved companion Inky has mysteriously disappeared. Now forced to navigate the complexities of a normal life, Nam must figure out how to move forward without the only friend who stood by him during his darkest days.
