Hana to Arashi no Regret

University student Watase’s life takes an unexpected turn when he discovers a cat wreaking havoc on the Agriculture Department’s flower beds. His attempt to intervene is interrupted by Kashiwagi, an eccentric senior student deeply devoted to botanical research who responds to the animal’s destruction with alarming threats. Desperate to protect the feline, Watase impulsively pledges to do whatever it takes to secure its forgiveness, inadvertently binding himself to Kashiwagi’s whims and entering a complicated arrangement born of panic and compassion. What begins as forced labor and menial chores gradually evolves into something far more complex as Watase spends time in Kashiwagi’s orbit. Despite the senior student’s unpredictable nature and unsettling intensity, Watase finds himself increasingly drawn to him, developing feelings that complicate their transactional relationship. The dynamic shifts further when Watase learns that Kashiwagi shares his own romantic orientation, transforming a situation rooted in coercion and obligation into a nuanced exploration of attraction, vulnerability, and unexpected connection between two young men navigating their emotions within the confines of academia.
