Second-year high school student Mari Tamaki feels a growing restlessness in her daily life, yearning for an opportunity to finally start something meaningful. Her search for purpose takes an unexpected turn when she crosses paths with Shirase, a classmate who exists on the fringes of their social circle. Lacking friends and widely dismissed as eccentric by their peers, Shirase has earned the nickname "Antarctica" due to her relentless, singular obsession with the frozen continent. While the rest of the class views her fixation as strange, Mari finds herself profoundly captivated by the sheer intensity of Shirase's unwavering dedication. Inspired by this encounter, Mari resolves to step outside the boundaries of her ordinary existence. Although the prospect of high school girls traveling to Antarctica seems virtually impossible, she chooses to embrace the challenge rather than dismiss it. Driven by admiration for Shirase's passion, Mari commits herself to the ambitious goal of joining her new companion on the journey, determined to transform an improbable dream into reality despite the overwhelming odds stacked against them.
