Kono Mama ja Dame Mitai desu

Kouga Nagahisa navigates his daily existence with a deliberate lack of ambition, consistently avoiding any situation that might require him to exert genuine effort or face potential failure. Despite this apathetic approach to life, he harbors deep romantic feelings for Hananoi Mizuki, the most beautiful girl in his social circle. However, his affection is complicated by the presence of Kusakabe Riki, Mizuki’s childhood friend and the celebrated star of the school’s basketball team, who stands as a stark contrast to Nagahisa’s own passivity and serves as a constant reminder of the qualities he lacks. The fragile equilibrium of Nagahisa’s unremarkable routine is abruptly shattered when he returns home after school one afternoon. Instead of the familiar comfort of his mundane existence, he encounters an unexpected surprise that disrupts his carefully maintained detachment. This unforeseen development forces him to confront the reality of his feelings and the consequences of his perpetual inaction, suggesting that his current approach to life and love may no longer be sustainable in the face of changing circumstances.
