Märchen Mädchen

Hazuki Kagimura is an ordinary, solitary girl struggling to connect with her new family. Seeking refuge from her difficult home life, she spends her days retreating into the comforting embrace of books and stories. One afternoon after school, a mysterious bookshelf in the library unexpectedly whisks her away to another world—a magical academy where ancient tales hold real power. There, she crosses paths with a fellow student named Shizuka Tsuchimikado, who introduces her to the extraordinary truth behind this hidden realm. At this academy, young women known as "Mädchen" are chosen by classic fairy tales and folklore to inherit their magic. Students hail from diverse literary traditions, wielding powers drawn from legends such as The Tale of the Bamboo Cutter, Inch-High Samurai, Der Freischütz, Shuten-dōji, The Little Match Girl, The Gigantic Turnip, Arthurian legend, and The Ramayana. Hazuki herself is selected by the timeless story of Cinderella. Embracing her newfound destiny, she begins a fresh chapter at the academy, determined to master her magic and forge a genuine friendship with Shizuka.
