Ban Kuregata lives with an extraordinary and burdensome condition: his hearing is acutely sensitive to every sound around him. This heightened perception has made daily life an overwhelming experience, turning the passing years into a relentless stream of noise. As a result, Ban possesses scarcely any peaceful or comforting memories, having spent his life struggling to find quiet refuge from a world that constantly assaults his senses. His solitary existence shifts dramatically when he meets Hino Shinonome. Unlike anyone he has encountered before, she becomes the first person to not only understand his condition but to tenderly embrace and treasure it as something unique. Rather than viewing his acute hearing as a flaw, Hino sees the profound value in how Ban experiences the world, offering him a warmth and acceptance he has never known. This genuine connection leads to an unexpected invitation from Hino to collaborate on weaving animated films together. For Ban, who has long endured a life defined by harsh noise and isolation, this creative partnership represents far more than a shared project. It carries the promise of a gentler future, raising the question of whether working alongside her might finally help him turn the page and unfold a truly new chapter in his life.
