The Substitute Wins His Heart

Alex serves as a mere stand-in for Eddie, the man Sebastian truly desires. To the outside world, Alex appears completely devoted to Sebastian, playing the role of an affectionate partner with flawless precision. However, his devotion is nothing more than a carefully constructed facade. Beneath the convincing act of infatuation lies a cold and calculated motive: Alex is only using Sebastian to secure financial gain, viewing their relationship strictly as a lucrative transaction rather than a genuine emotional connection. The fragile dynamic shatters when Eddie finally returns to town and moves directly into Sebastian’s home. With the original object of Sebastian's affections now back in the picture, Alex's position as a substitute becomes immediately precarious. Rather than confronting Sebastian or navigating the complicated love triangle himself, Eddie directs his attention straight to the imposter. His very first words to Alex are a blunt and unapologetic demand: step aside and leave Sebastian for him. This sudden ultimatum forces Alex to confront the reality of his deceptive arrangement, threatening to unravel both his fabricated romance and the financial security he has been exploiting all along.
