Minarai Witch

With the arrival of spring, thirteen-year-old Koharu steps into a pivotal new chapter of her life. Having just reached the age traditionally recognized among witches as the threshold of adulthood, she formally begins her rite of passage—a customary journey of independence that requires every young witch to leave the comfort of her childhood home and forge her own path in the wider world. However, embracing this ancient tradition proves far more daunting in practice than in theory. While Koharu possesses the determination required to strike out on her own, she quickly confronts an immediate and decidedly mundane obstacle: she has nowhere to live. Before she can fully dedicate herself to mastering her craft or establishing her place in society, she must first navigate the practical challenge of finding a suitable home. This one-shot story follows Koharu as she balances the magical expectations placed upon her with the very real struggles of starting over from scratch. Her journey is less about grand spells and more about the quiet, everyday hurdles of growing up, beginning with the simple yet essential task of finding a place to call her own.
