Throughout middle school, Touto was defined by his reputation as a violent delinquent whom peers either feared or avoided. Determined to reinvent himself, he studies diligently to enter a prestigious high school where he can leave his past behind. Despite his intimidating demeanor and eccentric habits, he quickly bonds with two fellow students who are also seeking fresh starts: Miyakoe, a timid occult enthusiast desperate to be noticed, and Yuta, an overweight boy hoping to escape a history of relentless bullying. Together, they form a supportive trio united by their shared desire for self-improvement and acceptance in their new environment. Their peaceful transition is shattered when Miyakoe vanishes while investigating a terrifying school urban legend. As Yuta and Touto search for her, they encounter a malevolent monster born from a cellphone, pushing them to the brink of despair. In this critical moment, Touto’s good-luck charm—a cellphone strap—miraculously awakens, granting him the supernatural strength needed to protect his companions. This extraordinary intervention reveals that Touto’s quest for a normal high school experience has instead plunged him into a bizarre world of folklore and danger far beyond anything he could have anticipated.
