The Temple of El Alamein

The Temple of El Alamein is a compelling compilation of World War II short stories told exclusively from the perspective of German military personnel. Operating on the premise that history is written by the victors, this manga collection brings to light the untold and unwritten chapters of the global conflict. Set between 1940 and 1945 during the war's most violent peak, each narrative unfolds in a different theater of war where German forces were deployed, offering a unique lens on historical events. The anthology features wildly imaginative scenarios that blend wartime drama with speculative fiction. In one story set in Egypt, soldiers uncover an ancient ruin containing evidence that dinosaurs played a role in constructing the Great Pyramids. Another tale chronicles how a single German fighter jet managed to shoot down a B-47 Stratojet at an altitude of 40,000 feet, far exceeding the technological capabilities of aircraft during that era. The collection comprises six distinct stories: Umi no Shishi (Seelöwe), El Alamein no Shinden (Temple of El Alamein), Arawashi no Yousai (Where Eagles Dare), Ardennes no Mori (Ardennes Forest), Kokujoku Manga (National Shame Manga), and Kokubujoku Manga 2: G.H.Q. (National Shame Manga 2: G.H.Q.).
