The Rest of the Dream

Set against the backdrop of a vast intergalactic society, The Rest of the Dream follows Ailey, the deeply selfish daughter of a multibillionaire who uses her immense wealth to essentially purchase her favorite rockstar, Hugh Marty. Driven by an obsessive desire to keep him entirely to herself, she confines him to her private planet and strictly forbids him from ever leaving. Despite the luxurious isolation of his new surroundings, Marty refuses to accept his captivity, repeatedly attempting to escape the boundaries she has imposed upon him. As time passes, Marty’s unwavering resistance pushes their tense dynamic to a dangerous breaking point. Ailey finds herself trapped in a dark dilemma born of her own possessive actions: she must ultimately decide whether to kill the man she idolizes to ensure he never escapes, or finally relinquish control and let him go. What begins as an extravagant display of power slowly unravels into a psychological struggle where neither captor nor captive can find peace.
