Mushi-Uta

Set in the near future, Mushi-Uta unfolds a decade after the sudden emergence of enigmatic, insect-like entities known as Mushi. These parasitic creatures offer extraordinary supernatural abilities to those they inhabit, but at a devastating cost: they devour their hosts' dreams and thoughts. Amid this altered world, protagonist Daisuke Kusuriya, who operates under the alias Kakkou, crosses paths with a young girl named Shiika Anmoto. As time passes, the two forge a deep and meaningful bond, unaware that their connection will soon draw dangerous attention. What Kakkou does not realize is that Shiika is a fugitive from GARDEN, a clandestine detention facility built to imprison the Mushitsuki—individuals possessed by the Mushi. Upon discovering her escape, GARDEN’s military enforcement arm, the Special Environmental Conservation Executive Office, deploys its most lethal operative to hunt her down. However, the pursuit quickly escalates into a larger conflict when the retrieval team meets fierce opposition from Mushibane, an underground resistance organization guided by the enigmatic leader known only as Ladybird. Caught between these warring factions, Kakkou must navigate a perilous struggle to protect the girl he cares for.
