Arbeiter Kintarou

Arbeiter Kintarou is a one-shot manga that introduces a highly unusual protagonist navigating the daily struggles of working life. The story centers on a part-time worker whose existence is defined by a bizarre and inescapable condition: he is physically incapable of consuming ordinary food. Instead, his body demands an extraordinary diet consisting solely of currency. This peculiar affliction transforms the simple act of eating into a constant financial burden, forcing the young man to continuously seek out part-time employment just to afford his next meal. Every coin and bill he earns at his various jobs does not go toward rent, leisure, or savings, but directly sustains his livelihood. As he cycles through different workplaces to fund his expensive appetite, the narrative explores the comedic and challenging reality of a laborer who must perpetually work merely to feed himself with the very wages he earns.
