Kemono no Gochisou

During a bitter, rain-soaked day, Suu—a natural-born carnivore—discovers two small, abandoned creatures shivering in the storm. These twins, Shaoru and Miku, are gentle herbivores entirely devoid of claws or fangs, subsisting solely on a plant-based diet. Driven by an overwhelming desire to care for them without causing fear, Suu makes a profound sacrifice: he completely abandons his predatory instincts and adopts a herbivorous lifestyle to raise them safely. As the years pass, the dynamic between guardian and dependents shifts dramatically. Shaoru and Miku eventually grow to surpass Suu in height, and their deep gratitude transforms into a fierce compulsion to protect the very individual who raised them. Having forsaken his predatory nature, Suu has lost much of his former edge, leaving him vulnerable in ways he never anticipated. Yet, while the twins begin to develop complex feelings that extend far beyond familial devotion, Suu remains anchored in his original perspective. Having always viewed Shaoru and Miku strictly as his children, he finds himself deeply bewildered by their evolving emotions, struggling to comprehend a bond that no longer fits the simple framework of parent and child.
