Erika Yoshino is the young, brilliant, and ruthless head of the Tokyo Police Department’s Cybercrime Division. Despite her flawless track record, she soon faces an unprecedented challenge when a masked figure begins dominating the headlines across the internet. Operating under the alias "Shinbunshi" due to the newspaper he wears over his face, this mysterious individual emerges as a self-appointed vigilante driven by a singular, compelling message. Shinbunshi claims to see the deep-rooted flaws in modern society. While acknowledging that he lacks the power to change the system himself, he offers frustrated citizens an outlet for their pent-up anger against unpunished injustices. He targets the everyday grievances of ordinary people—those who are treated like garbage, oppressed by corrupt government officials wielding unchecked authority, and burdened by systemic issues entirely beyond their control. What begins as a relatively harmless online presence rapidly spirals out of control. Amplified by the viral nature of social media, Shinbunshi transforms into an overnight internet sensation. As his digital following swells, the severity of his vigilante actions escalates exponentially, forcing Yoshino into a desperate race to stop a movement that has already captivated the masses.
