When Will Ayumu Make His Move?

Ayumu harbors deep romantic feelings for his upperclassman, Yaotome, yet he refuses to act on them prematurely. Bound by a strict personal vow, he has promised himself that he will not confess his love until he can defeat her in a game of shogi. For Ayumu, earning the right to declare his affection is just as important as the emotion itself, making every match at the board a high-stakes endeavor driven by quiet devotion. However, keeping this resolution proves far more difficult than mastering the traditional Japanese board game. His adoration is entirely transparent to Yaotome, who sees through his stoic exterior with ease. Rather than waiting patiently for him to improve his skills, she finds endless amusement in his predicament and actively schemes to undermine his resolve. Determined to hear his confession, Yaotome continuously devises clever tactics and playful traps designed to coax him into breaking his promise. What begins as a simple goal of achieving victory in shogi quickly transforms into an endearing battle of wits. Caught between his unwavering pride and his overwhelming affection, Ayumu must navigate her relentless teasing while striving to finally claim the win that will allow him to speak his heart.
