Nora to Zassou

Assistant Inspector Hajime Yamada is a man hollowed out by grief. Following the tragic death of his daughter, he has lost all sense of purpose and hope. His daily work only deepens his despair, as he is routinely tasked with dismantling underage prostitution rings—a grim reality that constantly reminds him of everything he has lost. Emotionally adrift and struggling to find a reason to keep going, Yamada navigates his cases with a heavy heart, unable to escape the shadows of his personal tragedy. Everything shifts during one of these routine operations when he encounters a young girl who bears a striking, almost unsettling resemblance to his late child. Her name is Shiori Umino, a desperate runaway who has resorted to selling herself just to survive on the streets. Despite her harrowing circumstances, Shiori remains fiercely guarded about her past, refusing to reveal the dark reasons that drove her to flee her home in the first place. Bound together by circumstance and an uncanny familiarity, the broken detective and the secretive runaway find their lives unexpectedly intertwined. As Yamada confronts the ghosts of his past through this mysterious girl, both must navigate a dangerous world where trust is fragile and survival demands unimaginable sacrifices.
