A pair of scientists has been arrested for conducting illegal genetic experiments on five of their own children. Among the siblings, only the youngest, Dannis, developed as a completely normal human being. Now left to fend for themselves, the burden of caring for his heavily modified family falls entirely on his shoulders. Driven by love and desperation, Dannis dedicates himself to finding a cure that can reverse the genetic alterations and restore his siblings to humanity. Each of the older children bears the strange results of their parents' laboratory research, possessing drastically different mutations. One sibling exhibits canine-human hybrid traits, while others have been spliced with plant genetics or engineered to produce spider webs. Another has awakened the unsettling ability to read minds. Having spent their entire lives confined within the sterile walls of a research facility, none of them understand how society functions. As they are suddenly thrust into the outside world, this extraordinary family must navigate everyday life while hiding their bizarre abilities, leaving Dannis to guide them through a reality they were never meant to see.
