You Are My Brightest Star

Saemon Otsuki appears to lead a charmed life. Admired by his peers as the school’s “prince,” he possesses striking good looks and sharp intelligence. Yet, beneath this flawless exterior lies a deep-seated self-loathing. Saemon is exhausted by his own habit of constantly reading the room and molding himself to fit the expectations of others, leaving him trapped in a cycle of hollow, superficial relationships. His perspective begins to shift after a chance encounter with Koto Kamehira, an unassuming girl he crosses paths with on his daily walk home from school. Unlike everyone else in his life, Koto radiates a quiet, authentic cheerfulness that completely baffles him. Intrigued by her genuine nature, Saemon finds himself increasingly drawn to her presence, slowly unraveling the emotional walls he has built around himself. This subtle connection culminates in a defining moment during their middle school graduation ceremony. In an unexpected gesture, Koto presents Saemon with a startling gift—a profound revelation that challenges everything he thought he knew about himself and holds the power to alter the course of his life forever.
