Souta is a middle school student who has hit absolute rock bottom. Completely penniless, without even a mobile phone to his name, and utterly destitute, he wanders through life with nothing but the meager coins left in his pocket. His bleak existence takes an unexpected turn when he finds himself lingering beneath a bridge, where he crosses paths with an older high school girl who happens to be accompanied by a stray cat. Upon noticing Souta’s desperate state, the girl examines the tiny amount of money he still carries. Rather than offering pity, she laughs at the minuscule sum—a grand total of just twenty-four yen. However, her amusement quickly gives way to a startling proposition that catches the boy completely off guard. With a playful yet enigmatic demeanor, she declares that for those exact twenty-four yen, she will allow him to buy her. This bizarre and impulsive offer sets the stage for an unforeseen encounter, leaving Souta to wonder what could possibly unfold from such an absurd transaction between two strangers under a bridge.
