Summary

Official Details
Sosuke Aoyama is a college student navigating life without direction, drifting aimlessly through his days. His solitary routine takes an unexpected turn when a chance encounter introduces him to Kozan Shinoda, a dedicated practitioner of suibokuga, the traditional art of India-ink painting. Drawn by the quiet intensity of the craft, Sosuke steps into a world he never anticipated exploring. Under Shinoda’s guidance, Sosuke begins to forge a genuine connection with both the ancient art form and the artist himself. The delicate brushstrokes and profound discipline required for India-ink painting offer him a sense of purpose that has long eluded his academic life. However, as he immerses himself deeper into this creative pursuit, it becomes apparent that his new environment holds complexities far beyond the canvas. Beneath the serene surface of the artistic community and Shinoda’s personal mentorship lie unspoken histories and hidden depths. As Sosuke continues to refine his skills and bond with his teacher, he slowly realizes that there is much more to the intricate world of suibokuga—and to Shinoda’s own family—than he could have ever imagined.
