Layer is no ordinary individual. As the leader of the clandestine organization known as MMM, his very existence defies conventional reality, sustained entirely by a mysterious force called "observation energy" drawn from the attention of others. This fragile dependency carries apocalyptic stakes: should this energy wane and Layer’s health deteriorate, the instability of his being begins to corrupt the fundamental information that structures reality itself, threatening to unravel the entire world. To prevent such a catastrophe, Möbius—his sole surviving family member—dedicates himself to carefully monitoring and managing Layer’s delicate condition. Despite Möbius's vigilant efforts, disaster strikes during a seemingly routine birthday livestream when an unforeseen incident triggers a catastrophic chain reaction. The fabric of reality begins to fracture, and the world teeters on the brink of total collapse. Desperate to halt the destruction and repair the damage, Möbius dispatches Layer on a perilous journey across an alternate world line. His mission is to gather the essential components needed for salvation: fragments known as "layer information." With existence itself hanging in the balance, Layer must navigate this unfamiliar reality to secure the key to restoration before everything is lost forever.
