Tamako is a wealthy, sheltered young woman who has always harbored a deep longing to experience life in Tokyo. Her quiet aspirations are suddenly ignited when a chance encounter with a young man named Noriyuki causes her dreams of the bustling city to expand beyond anything she had imagined. However, her path to independence is heavily guarded by her grandfather, who adamantly opposes the idea of her leaving for the capital. Determined to find a compromise, her grandfather sets a strict condition: Tamako may only move to Tokyo if she and Noriyuki become formally engaged and successfully gain admission to the same university in the city. Faced with this unexpected ultimatum, the two must navigate a complicated arrangement to fulfill the requirement. In order to make this sudden proposal work and satisfy her grandfather's demands, Tamako and Noriyuki agree to enter into a fake engagement. Bound together by their shared goal, they must now maintain the illusion of a genuine romance while working toward their academic ambitions and the promise of a new life in Tokyo.
