The Quiet Life of a Professor and His Butler

Sogo Shiba is a university professor who fiercely values his independence, harboring a deep disdain for anyone attempting to manage or control his daily life. However, his carefully guarded autonomy is challenged when he inherits a house from his late brother's will. The property comes with an unexpected addition: Haruki, a young and strikingly beautiful butler assigned to the estate. From the very beginning, Sogo finds himself irritated by Haruki’s perpetually serious demeanor and unwavering dedication to his duties, viewing the butler's presence as yet another intrusion on his personal freedom. Yet, beneath Haruki’s stoic exterior lies an enigmatic complexity that Sogo cannot easily dismiss. The young butler rarely displays emotion, but in unguarded moments, his composure slips to reveal a quiet vulnerability that leaves the professor deeply unsettled. When Sogo unexpectedly catches a glimpse of Haruki smiling, it stirs unfamiliar feelings within him, complicating his initial annoyance. As the two navigate their shared living arrangement, the rigid boundaries between employer and servant begin to blur, forcing Sogo to confront emotions he never anticipated awakening in the quiet confines of his inherited home.
