On January 3, 2011, Dr. Matsuoka Tsuyoshi treats a patient at his hospital who appears to be suffering from nothing more than a common case of the flu. Believing the illness to be minor, he advises rest and expects a full recovery. However, by the following day, the patient's condition deteriorates catastrophically, resulting in widespread organ failure and death. What initially seemed like an isolated incident quickly spirals into a medical nightmare as additional patients begin presenting with the exact same fatal symptoms. The mysterious virus proves to be far more aggressive and deadly than any ordinary seasonal illness, defying all conventional treatments and expectations. As the infection rate accelerates, hospitals become overwhelmed with victims succumbing to the same rapid physical decline. Panic soon sweeps across the entire nation of Japan as the unknown pathogen spreads uncontrollably among the population. With no cure in sight and the death toll rising, society faces an unprecedented crisis. What began as a routine medical consultation for Dr. Matsuoka transforms into the first chapter of a devastating nationwide tragedy, leaving the country to grapple with the terrifying reality of an unstoppable epidemic.
