Ura Roji no Danshitachi

In the quiet monotony of her everyday existence, everything feels muted and colorless. Her life is a canvas painted entirely in shades of gray, devoid of excitement or unexpected turns. That is, until a single striking detail pierces through the gloom—a young man with bleached hair that seems to radiate like a beacon against the bleak backdrop of her ordinary world. This fleeting, luminous encounter marks the beginning of an unexpected journey into a hidden side of the city she never knew existed. Ura Roji no Danshitachi is a compelling collection of short stories that explores these chance meetings with enigmatic men who linger in the shadows of society. Rather than conventional heroes, the narrative focuses on the alluring yet troubled "back alley boys" who occupy the fringes of the urban landscape. From reckless delinquents wandering the streets to emotionally scarred individuals carrying invisible burdens, each story introduces a different man shaped by hardship. Others work late into the night within the neon-lit nightlife districts, navigating a world far removed from polite society. Through these intimate vignettes, the manga captures the raw, bittersweet intersections between a woman's mundane reality and the dangerous charm of men living on the edge.
