By the year 2022, Japan has implemented a radical and unforgiving system designed to rehabilitate its unemployed population. Under this new law, any individual who fails to maintain a steady income for more than six consecutive months is deemed a non-worker and subjected to mandatory intervention. The standard protocol involves sending these individuals to specialized regeneration facilities, where their brains are systematically rewritten to force them back into productive society. Tatsuya Kamijou was once a successful employee at a foreign-owned investment firm, far removed from the struggles of the jobless. However, his life takes a drastic turn when he unexpectedly loses his position. After six months of unemployment, Tatsuya anticipates being sent to one of the standard rehabilitation centers. Instead, he is abruptly transferred to a secretive concentration camp rather than an ordinary treatment facility. Within the confines of this harsh compound, Tatsuya endures conditions far more brutal than the routine brainwashing and behavioral training inflicted upon regular non-workers.
