Kyuusai no Hi

Crafted by the acclaimed duo Nishioka Kyoudai, Kyuusai no Hi is a striking anti-war epic delivered through the creators’ signature surrealist lens. The narrative follows an ordinary man who awakens one morning to discover that the world beyond his doorstep has been reduced to a desolate wasteland. Stripped of familiarity and faced with absolute devastation, he steps out into the ruins to search for any remaining signs of life. His solitary journey quickly takes a bizarre turn when he stumbles upon a living fetus resting in a ditch. In a deeply unsettling encounter, the infant immediately latches onto his thumb and refuses to let go, binding the man to this strange new companion. From this moment forward, the boundaries of reality begin to fracture completely. As the protagonist navigates the ruined landscape tethered to this unyielding presence, the events surrounding him escalate into increasingly surreal and inexplicable territory, transforming his desperate search for survival into a haunting exploration of a shattered world.
