Nishiyama has recently taken on the demanding role of manager at a local convenience store, but he quickly finds himself out of his depth. His greatest challenge is not the daily operations or the endless paperwork, but rather Higashino, a veteran part-time employee who has been working there far longer than Nishiyama has held his title. Unlike the new manager, Higashino possesses a bold and unfiltered personality, never hesitating to speak his mind regardless of the situation. For someone as naturally timid and shy as Nishiyama, managing such a straightforward and assertive subordinate feels like an impossible task, leaving him constantly flustered and struggling to maintain any sense of authority. Despite the initial friction between them, their daily interactions behind the counter begin to reveal unexpected layers to their dynamic. As Nishiyama navigates the awkwardness of supervising someone so much more outspoken than himself, he starts to look past Higashino's blunt exterior. What begins as sheer intimidation slowly gives way to curiosity, forcing the anxious manager to confront his own insecurities. As they continue to work side by side in the quiet hours of the store, Nishiyama’s guarded perception of his veteran coworker may gradually shift into something entirely unforeseen.
