On Doorstep

Jimmy is a petty thief accustomed to flying under the radar, but his luck runs out when he is caught pickpocketing by Reese, a middle-aged man who refuses to hand him over to the authorities. Instead of calling the police, Reese forces Jimmy to spend an exhausting day doing grueling labor at the bookstore where he works. Deeply humiliated by the ordeal and eager for payback, Jimmy decides to break into Reese’s apartment to exact his revenge. However, the burglary takes an unexpected turn when Jimmy uncovers startling evidence revealing that Reese is actually a retired police officer. Rattled by the discovery, the young thief flees the scene in a panic, determined to bury the incident and return to his normal life as if nothing ever happened. Yet, despite his best efforts to move on, Jimmy quickly realizes that erasing Reese from his mind will be far more difficult than he ever anticipated, setting the stage for an inescapable entanglement between the two men.
