Kagehime no Konrei

For as long as she can remember, Izuna has lived in the shadows of royalty, serving as the secret body double for Princess Kisara of the Eastern Kingdom. Because the true princess suffers from a frail constitution, Izuna dedicates her life to acting in her place—a truth known only to a select few within the royal palace. The only person who ever addresses her by her real name is Princess Kisara herself. Izuna’s lifelong duty was finally supposed to end when it was announced that the princess would marry the Crown Prince of the Western Kingdom to forge peace between the two rival nations. However, just weeks before the wedding ceremony, Princess Kisara’s health takes a sudden and fatal turn. On her deathbed, the princess tearfully apologizes for failing to grant Izuna her freedom, ultimately entrusting the fragile peace between their countries into her double's hands. Bound by devotion, Izuna vows to honor her beloved princess’s dying wish by taking her place at the altar and marrying a man from an enemy nation. She makes one solemn promise to herself: she will never fall in love with her new husband. Yet, as she journeys toward the West, Izuna cannot help but wonder what fate truly awaits her behind enemy lines.
