Midori no Ou: Verdant Lord

In a near-future world where humanity's encroachment on nature has triggered a catastrophic response, the very earth itself begins to fight back. Cities are overrun by vines and foliage as towering, wooden mech-like creatures known as Arethusa - named after the mythological Hesperides who tended the gardens of the remote Elysian Fields - rampage through the urban landscape. Amidst this chaos, 17-year-old Souma Shin, a Japan native and punk enthusiast, finds himself in the midst of a desperate battle to protect his younger, twin-like brother Ken. Shin's visit to Ken's location turns into a frenzied rescue mission as they are caught in the crossfire of a botched military operation involving a group of children used as human shields against the Arethusa invasion.
